As global concerns over climate change escalate, all industries must reduce their carbon footprint. Currently, the resources and waste management sector makes up 6% of the UK’s total greenhouse gas emissions. Although the industry has come a long way in the last 20 years, largely driven by the move away from disposal to landfill, there are still circular processes and innovations that can be adopted, as explored by CIWM’s president, Dan Cooke.
